Pre–Arrival Information

Passport and Visa requirements

A visa is NOT required to enter Spain for a stay of 30-90 days for the following passport holders (in addition to the EU Countries and Schengen countries):

Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, A.R.Y.M., Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brasil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Corea del Sur, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, U.A.E., U.S.A., Georgia (certain Passports only), Granada, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Kiribati, Malaysia, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Nauru, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Palaos, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Salomón Islands, Samoa, San Cristobal e Nieves, San Marino, San Vicente y Granadinas, Santa Lucía, Santa Sede, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Timor Oriental, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Ukraine (certain Passports only), Uruguay, Vanuatu and Venezuela.

Countries that are not on the list will need a visa.

Travel information and maps from Airport to Hotel

Average travel time is 25-30 min (15,4 km) from the Barcelona Airport ”El Prat” to the Hotel Majestic.

There are taxi ranks opposite the arrivals areas of each terminal. Taxis are black and yellow. The trip from the airport to the Hotel Majestic should cost approximately 30€.

Currency Exchange and Credit Cards

The currency in Spain is the Euro.

You will find many ATMs in Barcelona and credit cards are accepted in almost every store, restaurant and often in marketplaces as well.

Tipping

A moderate tipping is usual in restaurants but service is always included in the bill.

Tax Rate in Spain

The standard 21% VAT is included in every bill you recive. Certain services like restaurants are taxed at 10% VAT.

Weather in Barcelona

The temperature begins to steadily increase during April reaching 20 ºC on occasions. Average temperature is 17°C. The average high is 19°C, and the average low is 12°C. April announces the return of good weather with pleasant warmth. Temperatures continue to rise and the weather is even more comfortable at noon. The weather is usually mild, with some rainy days.

Programme / Dress code

Conference: Casual and business casual except for the visit to Cercle del Liceu (APs) and the Gala Dinner (business suit and tie).

Excursions: Very casual attire, comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, rain wear and camera.

Saturday night Gala Dinner: Business suit and tie for gentlemen is absolutely compulsory and equivalent for ladies.
